Non-Cooperation Strategies in Action: Responding to Federal Threats

Let’s deepen our use of non-cooperation to fight authoritarianism. In this session, we will engage in scenario-planning to develop strategies we can use to prepare for future consolidations of authoritarian power, such as the withdrawal of federal funds from our communities. What resources do we have now that we could use to make such threats backfire? What resources, skills, and plans could we build now so that we are better prepared to block authoritarianism and build our movement power in the future?

New non-cooperation content!

*For this session, everyone is invited to stick around Visible Records for an author talk with Eric King, author of A Clean Hell: Anarchy and Abolition in America’s Most Notorious Dungeon. 4:30-6pm. This author talk is hosted by Rivanna Anarchist Black Cross.

We will start each workshop promptly – please arrive a bit early if you want to get settled and make a plate. Bring food for the potluck if you’re able! Everyone is invited to eat when you want, and to stay to enjoy each other’s company after the workshop. We join a long legacy of Southern communities eating and learning together as we grow movements for collective liberation.

These sessions are free! If you are able, we ask for a voluntary $5 contribution to help support the series. You can donate ahead of time here, or donate at the door. And in November, we will have childcare available!

Hosted by Indivisible Charlottesville, Congregate Charlottesville, and Charlottesville DSA
