We Keep Us Safe: How to Defend Against Police Violence

Authoritarianism escalates police violence, especially against targeted communities. How do we keep each other safe when we see police confronting someone? Learn about your rights and options if you see the police talk to someone else, pull someone over, or make an arrest. Because, who keeps us safe? We keep us safe!

New community safety content!

We will start each workshop promptly – please arrive a bit early if you want to get settled and make a plate. Bring food for the potluck if you’re able! Everyone is invited to eat when you want, and to stay to enjoy each other’s company after the workshop. We join a long legacy of Southern communities eating and learning together as we grow movements for collective liberation.

These sessions are free! If you are able, we ask for a voluntary $5 contribution to help support the series. You can donate ahead of time here, or donate at the door.

Hosted by Indivisible Charlottesville, Congregate Charlottesville, and Charlottesville DSA.
