People's Summer Activist Series -- June 26

Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church

1901 Thomson Rd, Charlottesville

Our Summer Activist’s Series continues Thursday June 26! Come join us to learn more about the how and why of our fight against fascism.

  • How do we organize a protest, and plan a campaign, to create tangible changes in our lives here and now?

  • How do we practice daily actions to protect each other from the grips of an authoritarian state?

  • How do we connect across communities and issues?

  • What have we learned from resistance movements in the U.S. and elsewhere?

  • What have we learned from each other here in Charlottesville? Join as many sessions as you can – let’s build power!

Organizing with Community, Led by Community: PHAR and the Fight for Local Power

This session will highlight the work of the Public Housing Association of Residents (PHAR) and their leadership in the fight for housing justice and local power in Charlottesville. Participants will learn about organizing that is rooted in community, led by directly impacted residents, and grounded in long-term vision and accountability.
