We are Indivisible Charlottesville.
Empowering citizens. Opposing Trumpism.
Defending Democracy. Holding government accountable.
Join us for Voices Rising, a community gathering to learn and share songs of strength and courage, hope and resistance!
Throughout history, song has been a vital force in social movements around the world and here in the U.S. From freedom songs in South Africa’s Anti-Apartheid Movement, to the Singing Revolution in Estonia, to the labor and Civil Rights movements in this country, music and song have helped sustain collective struggle.
No singing experience is necessary. All are welcome.
Come raise your voice, build community, and prepare for the work ahead.
Please join us for a Potluck at Belmont Park and get to know your fellow activist community! Bring a shareable dish and some friends! We will have a social activist scavenger hunt, family fun games, and voter education about the upcoming ballot measures we vote on in November! Belmont Park features a playground, basketball court, and a Splash Park, as well as plenty of green space to spread out picnic style and play games.
It's time to practice using our bodies for strategic civil disobedience to protect our community and disrupt fascist threats. Folks with all bodies and physical abilities are welcome, as always. We encourage sneakers and comfortable clothes, and remind everyone to ask for consent as we move our bodies together. Come practice with us even if you're not sure this is for you. There is a role for everyone!
The People’s Activist Series is an opportunity to learn more about using people power to fight fascism. Learn more about the series HERE, and keep an eye on our events page here for for more specifics on each session—let’s build power!
