The Medicare for All Act of 2019 is a piece of legislation that would establish a universal, single-payer healthcare system in the United States. There is a nation wide movement to push this legislation into law, and on October 16 local advocates for Medicare for All will be holding a town hall on the proposal and on the current state of healthcare. In the wake of the recent expose of UVa’s practice of suing its most vulnerable patients, this issue is of particular interest to the Charlottesville community. Come out out and learn more about Medicare for All, and how would prevent situations like this from ever arising again here or anywhere else in this country.
