Free DC is an organization working for Statehood in the District of Columbia, and they are sending busloads of canvassers to Charlottesville to support voter turnout in support of Tom Perriello. We expect 100+ volunteers to be canvassing on Indigenous People’s Day weekend (Oct 10-11), as well as the final weekend before Election Day (Oct 31 – Nov 2). Buses will arrive in Charlottesville around 10:45am on both Saturday Oct 10 and Sunday Oct 11. Canvassers will knock doors in two shifts, with a break for lunch, and the bus departs back to DC at 5pm.  Staging will be at the Carter Recreation Center.

Free DC needs local volunteers to drop-off and pick-up canvassers, and will also orient anyone who would like to canvas themselves!
