Power-mapping is a tool we can use to plan strategic campaigns by making decisions along the way. Once we have a specific campaign goal, like blocking the construction of a data center or ICE facility, we can name the people, agencies, businesses, and organizations that support us or oppose us, and how much influence they each have over the outcome. Our power map helps us plan our actions so we can win that campaign and grow our movement.

Hosted by Indivisible Charlottesville, Congregate Charlottesville, and Charlottesville DSA, the People’s Activist Series is an opportunity to learn more about using people power to fight fascism. We will explore how to use symbolic actions and strategic noncooperation while organizing to keep our community safe. In Summer 2026, the People’s Activist Series will be weekly at Visible Records, starting with a potluck dinner before the workshop. Every Monday, 6:00-8:00pm, from June 1 to August 17.
