Pen Park, 1300 Pen Park Road, Charlottesville
Hello Defenders of Democracy!
Are you tired of making phone calls to your representatives alone in your home? Would you rather make them with others, outside, and celebrate the work you are doing together?
Do you find it hard to make time to call during office hours because you're caring for children?
Do you want to call your representatives but you don't know where to start or what to say?
Have you been wondering about getting more involved with Indivisible Charlottesville, but haven't been able to attend any meetings yet?
If you answered yes to any of the above, and you're available Thursday, May 22 at 11am, then this event is for you!
This will be a child-friendly gathering at the Pen Park picnic shelters (coming from Rio, turn left just before the tennis courts). We will gather and make calls, while our children play nearby (we'll have sand toys, sidewalk chalk, and bubbles; there are also some pretty great puddles if it's rained recently -- rain boots highly recommended).
Please bring:
a cell phone (tho we'll have one to lend if needed)
whatever your kid needs (if you're bringing a kid 🙂)
There is usually plenty of parking. Look for us at picnic shelter 3 (though on the off-chance it's taken we’ll be in one of the others).
