We Keep Us Safe: How to Protect Each Other from Surveillance

How are surveillance technologies being used to escalate the authoritarian threats we currently face? What can we do to keep each other safe? Learn how to oppose surveillance cameras, such as the automated license plate readers currently surveilling those of us who drive through Charlottesville. Envision campaign strategies to shift our local culture away from a false sense of safety through surveillance toward embodied safety through solidarity. Because, who keeps us safe? We keep us safe!

New community safety content!

We will start each workshop promptly – please arrive a bit early if you want to get settled and make a plate. Bring food for the potluck if you’re able! Everyone is invited to eat when you want, and to stay to enjoy each other’s company after the workshop. We join a long legacy of Southern communities eating and learning together as we grow movements for collective liberation.

These sessions are free! If you are able, we ask for a voluntary $5 contribution to help support the series. You can donate ahead of time here, or donate at the door.
