Come out to the Indivisible Charlottesville Democratic candidate debate!

We’ll be holding a debate for the four candidates vying for the Democratic Party nomination for Congress in our district on March 17 at 2 PM at Buford Middle School! Our moderator, Nicole Hemmer, will lead a discussion between the candidates highlighting their unique perspectives and qualifications for office. Even if you’ve heard from the candidates at other fora, we think you’ll enjoy this opportunity to learn what sets each of them apart in a debate format. By the way, the Cville Democrats will be hosting a Pasta Supper fundraiser the same evening where you can also sample the candidates’ cooking!

City and county Democratic committees will be holding caucuses between April 14 and April 21 to elect the delegates who will decide the nomination at a district-wide convention held in Farmville on May 5. (Yes, that’s confusing, but we’ll be sending out more information about how you can participate and vote in the process!)

Get writing at our Letters to the Editor Workshop!

We’re hosting a workshop at the Charlottesville Senior Center on Thursday, 3/15 at 5 PM. In this workshop you will learn ways to write letters to the editor on public policy issues that are important to you. Find out what the newspapers require when deciding to publish a letter and learn how to get your letter published where it will make the most impact. Genevieve Lyons, volunteer with Indivisible Charlottesville, is the facilitator. Free and open to the community.

On March 14, join UVA students and fellow citizens in solidarity against gun violence.

On the morning of March 14, students at the University of Virginia and across the nation will walk out in solidarity with the victims of gun violence—and to press for a drastic change in our laws and our culture. At 6pm that same day, the UVA Minority Rights Coalition will hold a rally and march against gun violence for our entire community—and Indivisible Charlottesville will be there in support.

Come join us and bring a friend! Click here for the Facebook event for more information. The march will gather at the Amphitheater for speeches, and then march up McCormick Road to the Rotunda.
